Education in Emergencies
All children and youth have a right to education—even amid conflict, disaster, or displacement. The number of school-aged children in crises worldwide requiring urgent support to access quality education has reached 234 million, of these, 85 million are out of school. Education in Emergencies (EiE) programmes help reduce barriers, limit disruptions, ensure continuity of learning, and even improve education quality while addressing protection concerns.
RECI is offering a platform to discuss relevant themes in EiE among its members and partners. In the past, events and exchanges have been organised on education in refugee or migration contexts, EiE programming across the humanitarian-development-peace nexus and quality standards for EiE, for example.
