OROS : How can we strengthen (intersectional) inclusivity in education?

Event information

Join us for an interactive webinar OROS (Online RECI Open Space) exploring the question: How can we strengthen (intersectional) inclusivity in education?

We’ll begin with insights from a Plan International project in Nepal that includes experiences related to Dalit inclusion. Dalit communities, long marginalised through entrenched caste hierarchies, continue to face systemic barriers in education, health, and livelihoods. When gender intersects with caste, the effects of exclusion multiply: Dalit girls are more likely to drop out of school due to poverty, household labor expectations, child marriage, and the stigma of untouchability.

Building on this case, we will move into breakout discussions to reflect on the challenges of inclusion, both in Nepal and in other contexts, and to share strategies and perspectives. Using participatory methods, this session offers space for dialogue, reflection, and collective learning across diverse settings worldwide. Together, we will discuss practical ways to embed intersectional inclusivity in education systems and strengthen equity for marginalised learners.
