Breaking the Mould : Rethinking educational initiatives in terms of employment pathways

Educational reforms in the public sector have emerged as a priority in development and an essential element of international cooperation efforts. Though well-intended, these interventions can lead to graduates and trainees being underemployed, informally employed, or unemployed because they do not fit many developing country contexts.

Balancing international priorities with the realities of developing countries requires rethinking how education systems can better support a seamless transition from training to viable employment and from upskilling to long-term economic and social stability.

Join us on for a discussion about these pressing issues during our OROS (Online RECI Open Space), hosted by the RECI Lifelong Learning Working Group. We are honoured to welcome keynote speaker Dr Jamelia Harris, an economist and Research Fellow with the Institute for Employment Research (IER) at the University of Warwick.
