Beatrice Schulter, RECI Executive Director, attended the 7th Global Assembly of the Global Campaign for Education (GCE) in Johannesburg in November 2022.
The World Assembly finalised and approved the new GCE Strategy, discussed several GCE policy motions, elected a new board and worked on a number of focus topics. One of the highlights was the discussion on the decolonisation of education financing, a topic that RECI would like to explore further with its members.
The World Assembly was also an opportunity to network with national education coalitions from around the world, to contribute to the further formation of the regional coalition ENACE (European and North American Campaign for Education), and to specify how RECI can collaborate within this global movement. As a member of GCE, RECI is committed to contributing to the implementation of the new GCE Strategy over the next five years.
